A motorist hit a natural gas valve while pulling into a parking space behind Pier 500 restaurant in Micro solenoid valve downtown Hudson at about Pneumatic control valve 11:15 a.m. Thursday.
The collision resulted in gas Special cylinder hissing from the valve for several minutes before the Hudson Fire Department arrived and closed the valve.
An Xcel Energy worker arrived shortly after the fire department and began repairing the valve.
The driver of the GMC Yukon SUV that hit the gas valve hasn’t been identified yet.
There was also minor damage to the vehicle and the restaurant building, located at 500 First St.
